AI Meets Electronic Testing: An Emerging Frontier explores the emerging integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with electronic safety testing, introducing fundamental safety concepts, international standards, and practical testing methods such as drop testing, electric strength testing, and temperature-rise testing. The content examines the challenges of conventional electronic testing, including time-consuming procedures, reliance on expert knowledge, complex documentation, and limited traceability. It then introduces four key applications of AI in the testing workflow: AI-assisted safety-standard interpretation and test-plan generation, automated creepage and clearance measurement, AI-based thermal prediction, and intelligent report generation and knowledge management. Emerging technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), computer vision, Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs), knowledge graphs, and blockchain are discussed through practical examples and research applications. The discussion also highlights the importance of human expertise, physical validation, and accountability when applying AI to safety-critical electronic testing.
